Birthday . . .
So yesterday was my birthday and it was a really weird one. I guess this is what happens when you have kids and more important things in life, because everyone forgot including me! I was subbing, I left in the morning, kissed Tim good bye, took the kids to my moms, talked to my parents, went to sub and at about 9am I got a text from a good friend from high school that said Happy Birthday, and I had totally forgotten. In an hour I had a couple frantic messages from my hubby, and after school my mom was afraid I had cried all the way to work because she forgot! My in-laws didn't remember until just about a half hour ago, and I'm not offended (No one needs to apologize), I just think it's funny! I remember my mom telling me when I was little that birthdays aren't as much fun when you are an adult, and I thought that was impossible, but here I am forgetting my own! Oh well, Happy 27th birthday to me!!!

Utah Trip
Teri and I made a trip to Utah this last weekend. We had a great time. We stayed at Teri's sister Trina's house and Teri's neice and her husband went through the temple, we watched her nephews football game, took engagement pics and (my favorite) found Carly's wedding dress. Here are some pics of the trip, of course I didn't take any until the last day . . .
Mya and one of her new best friends, Jersey the dog, she loved her!!
Another new best friend, Gracie
and another new best friend, Jacelyn. Brily was another new friend of hers, but we didn't get a pic with her before she left.
Carly's UNR poster pose in a wedding dress. This is NOT the dress she got and it was hard to choose because they all looked gorgeous on her, howeve the one she got was made for her!
Mya enjoying a little break from her carseat on the way home. She was such a little trooper and only had one night of being a beastie-girl!
Kylan posing with his dad for the camera the night I got home. I sure did miss my boys while I was gone!!!

Wedding Bells!
It seems like every 6 months or so I am making one of these posts, but I am so excited that Carly and Kyle are engaged! Kyle, or Karl as Landon has named him, has fit into the family from the first time we met him! You did a good job Carly and we are so excited for you two!!!!

How My Garden Grows 2009
I have to preface these pics by explaining that I come from a family of non-yard work people. My husband comes from a family of people who love to work in their yard. Neither Tim nor I are really big on yard work, although I am trying to be more of a yard work person, so while this may not look like much of an accomplishment to most of you out there, it is for us.
Our yard also poses a few obstacles. In the front we are fighting salt grass like crazy since where our planters are uses to be covered in grass, this year the crab grass won once again, but we held it off longer and I hope as our plants fill in more and more every year it will be choked out! Our back yard has 4 HUGE elm trees in in which shade 90% of the yard, making it hard for most plants to grow, or on years when the elm beatles win (like this year, even though I paid a lot of money to have them injected), then the leaves make our grass brown. Anyway, now that you know the background, here is how we faired this year:

One planter in the front. I just weeded it this week and it's already bad, but notice that the plants are all still alive! I love this purple sage brush (there's one on the other side also), but it attracts bees like crazy, so I wouldn't suggest putting in where your kids play, luckily ours don't playin the front!
Two of our trees in the back yard that hopefully will be gone next year. We plan on using our extra large tax refund to get rid of these two. Our neighbors said they would split the cost with us!
Blossoms that will soon be raspberries!!! We transplanted 3 raspberry bushes from Teri and Brett's yard, and they have taken and are producing!
Our first raspberry almost ready to pick!
The tomatoes that just rippened this week! Our tomatoes have always done really well, the only vegie that I have yet to be able to grow in our yard!

My Little Ballerina
Grandma Adams got Mya this outfit this week and I have been so excited to put it on her! I have been wanting a skirt like this since she was born, and it is just as cute as I imagined (she also has white leggings on underneath, which you can't see in this pic), so here is a picture for grandma and Kade took some with his camera this afternoon! I'm so happy I have a family that keeps my kids looking cute!!!
Also this week Evan officially became Evan Bradly Schank! Congrats Kade and Leah! Thanks for letting us be part of your special day! Kylan and Evan were both perfect during the hearing (prayers really are answered!)
