Zofran

All I have to say is Thank Goodness for Zofran! I should write a thank you note to whoever invented/discovered it, because I don't know what I would do without it! I have an ultrasound today to see how far along I actually am, so that's exciting, other than that I am not excited about feeling like I have the flu for the next 2 or 3 months, but at least my buddy zofran helps me keep some food down!

Our Christmas . . . and Baby Update

Mya and Uncle Kent Christmas Eve. We were with the Schank fam for Christmas Eve this year. We also told everyone that we were expecting on Christmas Eve. We were going to wait until Christmas day, but Bill called on the 24th and we wanted to tell him on the phone, so we told everyone then!

Mya doing her silly smile for the camera. She was making this smile all Christmas Eve for anyone taking her picture! P.S. don't you love her PJ's - they came with a removable tu-tu!
The kids in front of the tree before going to bed! Kylan was so excited!
My handsome boy!
My beautiful (silly) girl
The kids patiently waiting Christmas morning at Grandpa and Grandma Sorensen's for everyone to get home from doing chores before opening presents! I didn't get any more pics of Christmas - every year I say I will, and every year I get too busy and tired!

Reading the kids their new book from their Colorado cousins before bed - the camera lense was all foggy from being in the cold car, but I thought it was still cute!

In baby news . . . Thank you everyone for the congrats. We are getting used to the idea of having another baby so soon (we weren't planning on getting pregnant again until next year at this time), but it is strange to be pregnant and not be expecting it! I have had one meltdown over it (Mya and this baby will only be 18019 months apart), but overall we are getting pretty excited. I haven't been really sick like I usually am, but everyday I wake up praying that today isn't the day that it hits! I'm also not sure how far a long I am, but I have an appointment on Tuesday, so hopefully we will be able to figure it out a little better then! Kylan is super excited -he has been telling me for 3 weeks now that there is a baby in my belly and it turns out he was right!

It's a Christmas Miracle . . .

. . . or at least that's what we are telling ourselves!

Surprised? Join the crowd! Baby Sorensen #3 due in August!

Super Hero's

While I was doing the dishes after dinner, Kylan told me my name was "Captain Mom". It took me a few times to understand him, then I asked why that was my name and he said "because you are a super hero mom!" I asked him what dad's super hero name was, and he said he isn't a super hero, just mom and KyKy are superhero's! Oh how I love this little boy, he made my day!

Cute Pics

As you can see, Mya is still making her silly face when I take her pic! Kylan did have pants on at one point this morning, but he always seems to lose them somewhere!

My Sick Girl!

I am giving a child antibiotics for the first time (really not bragging about that, Ky just has a great immune system, unless it's the flu), poor Mya has had a cold since mid-October, so I finally took her to the doctor (first time taking a child to the doctor for being sick as well), and although she doesn't have an ear infection or (thank goodness) pnemonia, he still thought it would be a good idea to give her antibiotic to help her get over whatever infection she has. He was also so nice as to not give her penicillan since being allergic to it runs in both of our families! So, hopefully Mya is on the mend, and since I have bragged about my sweet boy, I thought I would give an update on what my sweet girl is up to:
  • She is 10 & 1/2 months old now, which seems unbelievable to me (even her doctor couldn't believe it today), which means she will be 1 in a month and a half!
  • She is not a kisser like her brother, so getting a kiss from her is very special! She does like to make the kissing noise, but doesn't like to actually kiss (takes after her mom)
  • She says "mama" "dada" "dydy" (kyky), "doggie" and "hi"
  • She can point to mom, dad, and Kylan either in person or in pictures
  • She loves to stand up and walk around furniture, or push a toy or furniture in front of her, and is trying desperately to stand up by her self in the middle of the floor, which is really funny to watch and usually ends in a face plant
  • She attempts to take steps, but can't keep her balance well enough yet!
  • She waves hi and bye
  • She makes "mmm" sounds and smacks her lips if she sees something she wants to eat
  • She refuses to eat baby food - has for about 2 months now - she only wants it if she sees you eating it also, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and mac and cheese are her favorites
  • Mya is definitly her dads girl. Example: Tim came to the front door to throw some stuff inside before shoveling the snow the other day, so Mya was not picked up by him immediately, so she proceeded to cry the entire 20 minutes he was outside!
  • She weighs 22lbs 6 1/2 oz (as of today)
  • She loves baths with her brother (but not by herself) and showers with dad

Mya already has such a different personality from Kylan that I am so excited to see what she is like as she gets older, in fact I try to imagine all the time what she will be like at Ky's age! I love you my girl!

Brag Post about My Boy

This morning Kylan woke up from having a bad dream, so while I was laying in bed with him he put his hand on my cheek and said "Mom, I love you so much!" and I thought, I have the best boy ever! However, all these I love you's will stop in a couple years, so I wanted to brag about how sweet he is right now, so here goes:
  • Kylan tells me he loves me several times a day (second only to his dad)
  • If I've been at work, or when Tim get's home from work, or if we've been in another room for any length of time, he comes and gives us a big hug and says "I've missed you" or "I'm so glad I found you"
  • Yesterday he wanted to know where his cartoon went and when I said it's on commercial he said "Thank you mom for telling me that"
  • He says that I am his "Sweat Heart" and dad is a "sweat dad" and Mya is a "sweet girl" and he is a "sweat Ky-Ky"
  • If we tell him he is a good boy or the best boy, he tells us we are a good mom/dad or best mom/dad
  • When we leave one of the grandparent's houses he always says while we drive away "I love grammy and grandpa and I miss them and they are going to miss Ky-Ky"
  • He makes sure that dad kisses each of us goodbye before going to work - and he even made Grandma Kenna kiss me before she left the other day
  • If I don't kiss him before I leave him in nursery he gets really sad and has to be cuddled by one of the teachers because I didn't kiss him goodbye
  • When I tuck him in he has to give me a "tight squeeze, hug and kiss" repeated about 3 times
  • And my favorite phrase since he was about 18 months "cuddle, buggle spoon me"

I love this little boy so much and I am so grateful to have him as my son! Even when he makes me that maddest (like he did last night), I can't stay mad at him for too long! So, sorry to the rest of you, but I got the sweetest boy in the whole wide world!

A White Christmas (A little early)

It started at 4:30pm yesterday and is supposed to last until 7pm today. A little early, but still so much fun! Too bad Mya and I still have bad colds, but we are hoping to go sledding tomorrow when it isn't snowing!
P.S. Kylan has been wanting to make a snowman, but the snow won't stick because it's too cold! I've never experienced that before!

Here Comes Santa Claus

Kylan and Mya got to see Santa at our ward party last night. I think the picture is pretty much explains it all! Kylan was excited to see Santa, a little nervious, but excited. Tim was late at work so we had to wait for him and so Kylan kept telling Santa that he couldn't sit on his lap until "his Tim" got there. He even told him what he wanted - a dump truck and a swather! Mya on the other hand did the silent scream and wasn't too happy!

Christmas Tree Hunting

We weren't hunting for a tree, but us and Gav & Rayanne tagged along with Brett and Teri and Laine and Tonya to get theirs. We drove a little over an hour, had some hot soup and hot chocolate, took four wheeler rides, found a couple trees and then came home. It was a lot of fun!

Cute Lean sipping her hot chocolate

The girls

The three older kids exploring - they had so much fun!

Mya so happy at first - she was sick of her coat and hat and gloves by the end!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas . . .

To decorate tonight at my mom's house.

I LOVE my nativity (a gift from my in-laws), I only wish I had a large enough place to display the whole thing.

Decorated for Christmas, complete with Football on TV.

Happy Turkey Day!

Cute pic of Evan

Mya and Dad crashed after dinner

Before dinner we went and watched dad, Cam, Gav and Grandpa play two hand touch football. We only got a pic with these two because they were on the same team.

Kylan loved his baby girl cousins - I wish he were this nice to his own sister! This is my cousin Cindy's little girl.

Three of the four Schank granddaughters and their girls. The three little ones were all born in 2009 - Mya in January, Cindy's in April and Darci's in September, and Aurora who is 6.

New Nephew

Welcome to the world Logan Russell!
He was born at 9:44pm November 20th
8lbs 10oz
I'm not sure how long he was, but he is a big boy!
Congrats Laine and Tonya! Logan is one lucky boy to have you two as parents!

I asked Tonya how it was (labor & pushing) right when I took this. I think her face says it all!

His long foot and body. I like to unwrap them to see them! I know, probably mean, but I want to see their whole cute little bodies!

Update on Us

There are a lot of things that I've been meaning to blog, but haven't sat down to do it, so here is what we have done the last month . . .

Halloween was great. Here is my sad cow (she had a horrible cold) and cute giraff before the ward Halloween party.
Aunt Tonya and Uncle Gav with all the kids at the party (Ky 2, Mya 9 months, Leah 17 months, Braden 3)

My sad cow hung out with very pregnant Tonya the whole party (thanks Tonya) while I took the boys around to the fishing pond, pin the tail on the cat and the haunted house. It was the best ward party ever!!!

Mya is becoming a great multi tasker - I had laid her down with her bottle on the floor and came back and she was wrapped in this blanked looking at her book while drinking her bottle!

I was also able to give her her first pony tail last week. Her hair is getting to that awkward stage where it's getting too long to do nothing with, but not quite long enough to fix, so here was my attempt!

We had Tonya's baby shower and it was a lot of fun. Here she is after opening all her gifts! Little Logan should be arriving around the 17th (hopeful on or before this date for poor Tonya's sake).

We rearranged our living room. I was able to finally sell our HUGE china hutch on craigslist and after it was gone and we moved the loveseat and chair around we wondered why we had bought it in the first place (we bought it from the previous owner of the house)! We were wasting so much space! We used the money we got for it to purchase this new TV stand - our TV had been in the corner where the little table is.

The couch in this picture is now where the china hutch was. Previously, it was in front of the china hutch, which made our living room much smaller. I am also planning on buying a tall skinny bookcase with glass doors to put on one side of the tv stand (not sure which side yet, and I have one picked out but it is on sale and I hope the price comes down a little more) and a new table for the phone. I love getting new furniture!
I also wanted to make a record of what the kids are doing now since I haven't done that in quite awhile!
Kylan (2 1/2) is:
  • constantly playing with his tractors and dump trucks. He is into fixing them with his play tools
  • Loves his blocks - but they have to stay in his room! He likes to make "sand castles"
  • IS POTTY TRAINED!!! During the day anyway!! I thought this would never happen, and it has and I am sooooo happy!!!
  • When he really likes some food I have made him, he tells me it's "delectable"(thanks grandma Kenna)
  • Refers to himself as prince-charming, and says that I, his grandma's and his sister are princesses
  • When I sub he tells me he misses me all day long
  • His only measurement of time his last week or next week - if something happened that morning, by afternoon it happened last week.
  • He loves nursery and all of his "friends" there and he misses them during the week

Mya (9 months) is:

  • Crawling everywhere (and I mean everywhere, she loves to explore)
  • Stands up and walks around furniture
  • Lets go while standing and can stand up without holding onto anything
  • Has the cutest laugh and funniest smile
  • Has finally figured out how to kiss and loves to give them and blow them
  • Claps and waves
  • Says Dada (her favorite), Mama and Hi
  • Won't eat babyfood, she only wants whatever we are eating!
  • Loves to drink out of sippy cups (which is good because in 2 1/2 months her bottles are going away!)
