Still Not Home!!!!

No, Kent is not home right now. Right now he is on a plane going from LA to . . . SALT LAKE and then here. Apparently, Kent's flight from London to LA was canceled - my mom saw this, so called Salt Lake who told her that Kent must have been put on a different flight since they hadn't heard from him, but that they didn't know which one due to privacy laws. We all go up to the airport or come over to airport (those who live in Reno) and we wait and wait until we see that "Kent's" plane has landed. Then we all stare at the poor people who came in on that flight, and once 7:15 rolls around and we still haven't seen Kent, my mom calls Salt Lake again (who she left her cell phone number with in case he misses his connection) and finds out he did miss his connection in LA, there are no more planes coming to Reno and he will be arriving at 12:22pm the next day! Felt like Christmas had suddenly been taken away!

So, we drove all the way home. We did get to talk to Kent, and of course he is more disappointed then we are, so here comes round two of picking Kent up. Hopefully things go smoothly today!
P.S. I don't normally take my child out in public in his P.J.'s, actually he was dressed really cute, but he pooped out of everything on the way to Reno and I forgot to pack extra pants (nothing got on the shirt that I had packed an extra of).

Another fun day!

First of all - 28 hours and 35 minutes until Kent is here (he is on his way to London right about now)!
Sorry, another post with no pics, but Ky and I have been having a great day! Grandma Sorensen called this morning and ended up coming over shortly afterwards with Tonya and Bradon to go walking. After walking, she went to a discussion with the sister missionaries and Tonya and Bradon stayed at our house to play. The boys took a bath and had a ton of fun, although my child's incessant splashing made Bradon a little nervous (we took lots of video). It was then close enough to lunch that we decided to feed all the guys at lunch, so Grandma went and got the three of us Sonic and Tonya and I made the quiche. Then, everyone came over and ate and hung out. Needless to say Ky is exhausted and sound asleep and I am going to go take a shower!
We are so blessed to have so much family in town!

Random Tag Meme

I was tagged by Craig at House of Howes with a meme. Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you. (See above.)
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag at least three people at the end of your post and link to their blogs.
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the fun begin!

1. I am allergic to penicilan, and I can usually only use an antibiotic once with no reaction, so everytime I have to be on antibiotic I am always afraid I'll break out in hives any minute!
2. Since I have all brothers and mostly boy cousins, I would be perfectly happy only having boys, but if I have girls, I only want one. I have always been more comfortable around boys!
3. I am in the horrible habit of biting my nails, which my mom and aunt get really mad at me for because we have beautiful nails that grow really long and look really good - however, when I was pregnant I didn't bite my nails (must have been the "morning" sickness).
4. I don't like to hug or cuddle with anyone except my husband (and now Ky), which was one of the ways I knew I wanted to marry him! My in-laws are huggers, but they know only to hug me when necessary!
5. I kissed my first boy in kindergarten - I didn't know it was bad to kiss boys (the whole only having brothers thing) until I told my mom I had kissed my boyfriend. I'm sure she about died!
6. Girls are rare in my family. On the Schank side there are 25 grandkids, only 4 are girls and none of us have sisters. On the Adams side there are now 9 grandkids and only 2 of us are girls. The Sorensen family seems to be following this trend also with 5 grandkids and only one girl, however in June there will be another granddaughter!

I tag: Cami, Karin, and Kelsey!

Countdown . . .

For those of you wondering, Kent comes home in 6 days! He will be arriving in Reno on Thursday at 6:17pm! My whole family will be together for the first time in 4 years. I am trying not to think about it because I know that that makes it go by slower, but I am too excited not to!
Kylan and I also had an awesome day today, since our diesel tank was out and we had no heat until the people came to fill it, we went to great grandpa and grandma Adam's house and of course I didn't have my camera, which grandma would have killed me anyway, but it was so much fun to hang out with grandma and grandpa like I did when I was little. So thank you grandpa and grandma for spoiling us, we love you!

I was born in the right year!

Thanks Uncle Kade!

So I got this weird email that said I had failed to send a message to Kade, but then when I scrolled down it was him sending these pics to me. He took them Christmas eve and then played with them on his computer and I think they are so cute, so enjoy and thank you Uncle Kade!

Our Story . . .

Kristan did this on her site and asked others to do it too for Valentines day and I thought it was cute, so here goes . . .

I met Tim (by meet, I mean I mean talked to him since I have known of him my whole life) during Junior High when we were playing on a co-ed Indian league basketball team together. I thought he was cute and so much fun to be with. We were really good friends until our Junior year of high school. We went to the Junior prom together and then were dating after that. That Valentines Day I was a little upset with him because he didn't go to lunch with me, but what I didn't know was that he was with his mom picking me out a Valentines Day present, my first ever from a "boy". We dated and went to our first year of college together and then he left on his mission. He actually went into the MTC on my birthday! I dated a couple people while he was gone - mostly just guys from the ward who would ask me out and I didn't want to be mean. His first date to come home was on his birthday, but that was actually a transfer early to get him home in time for school (which his mom and I had registered him for), so about a week before he was supposed to come home he called and said that he was extending. That 6 weeks was the longest of his entire mission. About a week before his new coming home date he called again to say he was thinking about extending - I told him I didn't want him too and he said his family had said the same thing, so he came home. That day I was so nervious! I didn't sleep all night, then showered twice the next morning because my hair didn't turn out right the first time! I was the first one at the airport and was shaking so badly I couldn't even hold my soda I had brought. When he got off the plane he just kept looking at me and I couldn't tell what he was thinking. On our way down to pick up his luggage, he walked up to me and leaned over and said "I really want to kiss you right now." I was so relieved after that! We got engaged (officially) on September 16th (he got home on the 4th and the engagement story will have to wait for another post) and were married one month later on October 16. Thank you for choosing me Timothy Brett! Happy Valentines Day everyone - now I want to hear your stories!!

Pictures, FINALLY

Well, I only have 3 more days in my long term (tomorrow and then 2 B days next week) and while there were fun things about teaching again, I am glad to have a break. I know now that I am not organized enough to be able to teach full time and have a baby (or more). Subbing is perfect for now! We haven't been too healthy here this week either - I don't have much of a voice, Kylan is a little stuffy, and poor Tim has a fever, aches all over and has a headache. It's just that time of year!

The view I've had for the last 3 weeks; classic Kylan

Other news here is that Kent gets home in THREE weeks from today. I can't even tell you how happy I am and excited. I can't wait for Ky to meet his uncle Kentie! Plus, it feels like he has been gone FOREVER!! Kent could always fix anything, so now anything that isn't working right at my Dad's house or office he just says he is waiting for Kent to get home to fix (Janet doesn't appreciate the back door not working right, but she'll have to wait) and since my washer broke, it would be great for him to be home now so that he can help us do some rewiring in our garage so that we can have a full size washer and dryer and not have to buy another stackable. Plus, I just miss him too much!

Another week down one more to go . . . and then . . .

SO I have been hoping to get a picture of Ky sitting at Mr. Billet's desk to put with this, but either Kylan is cranky or I forget my camera everytime I take him to work on stuff after school. Oh well. Things are going good - busy, but good. Mr. Billet will be back for "A" days next week (his AP class is on this day) and I will still be doing the "B" day, but that's fine since its the O hour day so I get to leave at lunch.
I haven't felt too great today, and Kylan hasn't either, so right now he is sleeping and I am supposed to be doing my powerpoints for tomorrow, but I would really love to be asleep also! I may be crazy, but I am actually going to do another long term, but this time hopefully not quite as long and for Kelly, who I student taught with. She is so organized and since I teach a lot like her it will be much easier . . . I hope!!
Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I will get a picture on here soon!
P.S. Kylan is showing some interest in walking finally. For about a half hour this afternoon all he did was stand up by himself (without holding onto anything, very funny to watch since he sticks his butt in the air and then stands up with his legs really far apart) and then hold on to my hands and walk. He will take a step by himself between my nightstand and bed, but that's as brave as he has been. I'm sure he will be walking before I know it though!
