Lazy Day

Ky and I just had a wonderful lazy day. Since I subbed all week (second week of long term) and will be subbing for the first three days next week (HPSE hall monitor), I decided Ky and I should just hang out at home, and it has been great. He took two two hour naps today, I got some house work done and found some old friends both high school and college on myspace. It's very strange to see people all grown up! Just wanted to check in since it's been awhile - hopefully I will have some updated pics soon, however that would require me to remember to put my memory chip back in my camera from my computer!
ONe last thing - click on Dan and Kelsey's page to read about Dan's sister and brother-in-law who are trying to adopt and keep them in mind - they are an awesome couple and wonderful parents!

Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! We sure did! Here are some pics from Ky's first Easter (okay, so he was alive for Easter last year, but due to the fact that we were in Utah and it was the first weekend with no visitors, we didn't really do much):

Kylan shoving as much candy in his mouth as he can before mom takes it - the blue on his chin is from the blue candy coat on the outside of the candy in his mouth!

The yummy cinnamon roles we had from breakfast (I am making this a holiday tradition Grandma Teri) and Ky giving one of his funny smiles all ready for church

With mom and with dad. I love the one with Tim because he is saying "ut-oh"! He is very expressive when saying this!

We had a wonderful time! We went to my grandparents ward because Kent and my grandpa Adams were speaking. They did such a good job! Kent told a story from his mission about Easter that I thought was awesome - so I will retell it for all of you! He said there are tons of different churches in Zimbabwe and all of them would advertise that for Easter they were having a feast, or doing the sacrament, etc. ONe of the leaders of one of the other churches asked the branch president of our church what he was doing that was special for Easter and he told Kent that he thought about it for a minute and then he told him "nothing." He explained that we treat every Sunday like it is Easter because every Sunday we take the sacrament and focus on remembering the Savior and what he has done for us, so we didn't have to change anthing for Easter Sunday. I just thought that was a wonderful thing to think about and to remember on the Sabbeth - to treat every Sunday like it is Easter!

Anyway, we finished the day by eating at Uncle Derild's and Aunt Lynnes and then went to my parents for a bit before heading home! It was a great day!

PS: Kylan is walking more and more everyday - he wants to only walk so badly!! Also, last week before I had to sub all week again, I took Ky's bottle away, so we are bottle free! Yea!!! No more bottle using up all of my cupboard space!

Doctors Appointment

We had Ky's 1 year appointment today and here are the stats:
Head: 19 inches - he hasn't been staying on a curve, sometimes he is bigger, sometimes smaller, so she wants to see him in 6 weeks. She said that a history of large heads in the family can cause that - hmmm, are there any large heads in the Adams family??:)
Weight: 23lbs 2.5 oz
Height: 29 3/4 inches
She said he looked good. Asked if he had teeth - I said no and I wasn't concerned since I didn't get any until 18mo. She did ask if he has been cranky the last few days (YES!!!) because she noticed him knawing (sp) on his hand, so thinks he may be in the process of getting a tooth! All the ladies in the office love how happy he is, and of course he loves to flirt with them all! Also, he was calling every man in the waiting room daddy - I assured them that every boy is daddy!

Birthday Party!

Kylan's birthday was a success! Here's what we did:

At PB&J for lunch (Ky's favorite) and drank milk from our camo cup

We went to Walmart and got him his own big boy basketball hoop. It's a little big for him, but he still likes it! Great-Grandma & Grandpa Adams got him a smaller one which he loves!

This picture doesn't quite show how much he LOVED everyone singing happy birthday to him! I was videoing, so this is the only pic I got, but lets just say he loves being the center of attention!

The cake experience. This may be the one and only time I allow my kids to do this - I hate the dirtieness! He didn't eat any cake, just smeared it around on his tray and himself. He did eat a lot of homemade oreo ice-cream though (thank you Reed for feeding him while I got his bath ready)

Watched the basketball game on his new chair from Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen while drinking some rootbeer.

Uncle Kort, the shoe king, bought him is very first pair of Jordan's. They are the new Air Force 1 Jordan's.

Proof that Kent was at the party, although a little late. Since I didn't decide when to have the party until Thursday night, both Kent and Kort had already made plans for the weekend (Kent a date in Reno and Kort hanging out with cousin Christopher) and both made it back to the house before we left - you guys are good uncles!
Thank you everyone for coming and for the great presents! Kylan is a lucky boy to have so many people who love him!
P.S. all day I just kept being so happy that I wasn't in a hospital like last year on this day!

LOvE bIrD tAg!

1. Where did you and your husband meet?
Tim and I have known of each other for most of our lives, but we really got to know each other between 7th and 8th grade when we both started playing "Jam On It" basketball. I had never played before (other than in my backyard) and Tim was already good, but he was really nice to me and would help me out. We then played on an Indian League co-ed basketball team together. He called my air balls trick passes to him!

2. First thing you said to each other. . .
Hello - met how many years ago!!! I have no idea (I blame all memory loss on Ky, like my mom blames all of hers on us kids)!

3. What was your first date?
Our first date was Junior Prom. We had decided to go together when we were Sophomores. Tim held my hand almost the entire night!

4. Where was your first kiss?
Our first kiss (this is embarrassing) was on the bottom bunk of Tim's bunk bed. We had been just friends for so long that his parents let us hang out in his room. The next day we decided to still be just friends because we knew how crappy high school relationships were - this happened a good year before our first date!

5. Long or short courtship/engagement?
Long courtship, short engagement. We dated from our Junior year (1999) until 2004 (2 year mission in there). Tim got home on September 4th and we were married October 16th.

6. Where did you get engaged?
We became officially engaged at our (my apartment at the time) in Reno. Tim took me out to dinner and while we were out his sister, brother-in-law and mother came and decorated our apartment with white rose petals and candals. When he took me home, he proposed!

7. Where were you married?
We (like Daniel and Kelsey) were married in the Biggest Little City in the Biggest Little Temple (Reno)!

8. Where did you honeymoon?
Since we got married in the middle of my second to last semester of school and not even on a 3 day weekend we (like Daniel and Kelsey) spent the weekend at Squaw Valley. It poured rain the entire time we were there! We did take a real honeymoon/graduation present for me the following May to Cancun. We are so glad we did that before we had a baby, or were in the real world with no money!

I tag Alisha T., Kelly J., and Monste W.

Kylan did it!

It's finally happened - Ky has discovered that his legs can move when he is standing without holding onto anything and he has taken his first steps today. Being the mean parents we are, we have been dangling things just barely out of his reach all day so we can see him do it more! Pictures to come later!

He's Home!!

Kent did get home on Friday, sorry about the long delay, but between family being in town and our house going through another round of the stomach flu (poor Ky still has diaper rash even though he has hardly gone in his diaper) this is the first chance I've gotten to update!

Kent did get home at 12:22 on Friday after his long long long trip home. He said that what happened was his travel arrangements had gotten messed up and so while everyone else he was supposed to be going home with got to leave South Africa on Tuesday, he had to stay an extra day and travel with an elder from a different misssion. When they got to London his flight of course didn't exist (it left the day before) so they put them on a different plane and they missed their connection in LA. In LA the lady at the United counter was LDS so even though he had to fly to Salt Lake first, that was the quickest way to get him home on Friday (the direct flight didn't leave until 5:00pm). The church made them reservations at a hotel, but when they tried to check in they were told they couldn't without a credit card, but luckily a different employee was LDS and promised that they wouldn't charge any movies to the room. The other "wonderful" thing that happened to him was that they put his luggage on the wrong plane in London, so he didn't get it until Monday. BUT, he is finally home and that is all that matters! So here is how his first weekend went:
Friday: went to lunch with everyone at the airport (which was a lot less people than the day before due to coming home in the middle of a work day); shopping for some clothes to wear, which Kent hated because he HATES shopping, but he couldn't wear a suite all day anymore! Dinner with all the Adams Fam
Saturday: Big breakfast, followed by big lunch with the Adams' and family pictures then big dinner (Kent said we are feeding him too much and he isn't used to eating so much food)
Sunday: reported to the high council in the morning then told all who traveled here goodbye!

It was fun to have the whole Adam's family together! We took family pics and told my grandparents about their 50th wedding anniversary surprise we had planned (whole fam in Clear Lake the end of July).

Right now Kent and Kort are in Rexburg for the week while my parents are in Nashville, TN.

Well, that's about all. Sorry for the LONG post, but it might be the last for another week or so - I am doing another long term sub job, but it shouldn't be too bad. Kelly will be out for 3 weeks, but the middle week is spring break and there are two half days during the last week and she is going to come in for AP Government during that last week!

Everyone waiting again - happy that we discovered the comfortable chairs this time!

The first pic of Kent! My mom was clapping (so embarassing)

Very happy parents!

Everyone at Lunch - Kent requested no rice or pasta!

Hanging out at the house afterwards

Ky and grandpa - don't they look just alike!

Kal and my cousin Cy - he is only 7 months old and only a couple pounds less than Ky

Kylan was exhausted after family pics - he slept on about 4 different people for about 3 hours! We just kept passing him around.
