19 weeks, Trim, Doors and Vanity

My 19 week belly. Almost half way there!

This is the door and trim in our master bathroom.

The new door on the new bathroom.

The corner vanity and medicine cabinet in the new bathroom.

The plummer will be back Thursday or Friday to put the toilets in and all the fixtures on and TURN ON THE WATER (you have no idea how excited I am to get the water turned back on). The electrician should be here hopefully today (right now) or tomorrow to finish up the wiring and then all the electricity will be back on, which means no more painting by spot light which is very difficult to do!!!!

Most of the living area is completely painted - just a few touch ups here and there and the house has been measured for carpet. The new windows will be put in in 2-3 weeks (after we have moved in) and my dad is helping us do the tile by the glass doors out to the carport the next couple nights.

The end is definitly in sight!!!

Wall Paper, Paint and Bathroom Flooring

Before I get into the remodel, I first have to publicly thank both my wonderful father and my wonderful husband. Last night I went to the Fallon Dancing with the Stars while my dad and hubby painted and stained their guts out! It was so awesome to walk into the house today and see how much of the living room they had painted and to see the doors for the bathrooms looking closer to the right color and I didn't have to do any of it!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
The master bathroom before . . .

. . . and after. Still needs another coat of paint, toilet and some cleaning, but you get the idea. The flooring was just layed yesterday and I love it!

The new downstairs bathroom with paint and flooring:

The wall paper removal in the middle during the process:

. . . and freshly painted with their first coat of paint. The ceiling is also completely done. It is looking so nice I can hardly believe it. Just a little note on wall paper . . . NEVER put it in your house because it will go out of style and then you will have to remove it and it is HELL! Just use paint people!!!

House Update - No pics though!

I had my camera, but forgot my memory card, so there are no pictures for this post, but I had to document that the end is in sight! Tim worked on staining the doors for our two downstairs bathroom while I painted them and worked on scrubbing more glue off the walls. It was so much fun to paint brand new walls! The bathroom flooring should be installed on Monday, then the bathroom plumbing will be finished up and we will having running water again! Hopefully we will have a painting party next week and get the rest of the painting knocked out! The end is in sight!

Wall Paper is Gone!

Left - wall paper gone, but glue still on the wall

Right - Wall paper down and glue washed off.

With lots of help from Tonya and LOTS of wallpaper stripper, all the wallpaper in the living room is down. Tim and I were able to sponge down one wall last night before "hitting the wall" from a long day of work and I am so excited now to get the rest of the walls sponged down!

In other GREAT news, we have our heating and air figured out and they will be installing it the week of April 5th and it's going to be almost half the price of the estimate we received from someone last week and yet done by someone who we know does great work! So hopefully we can be moved out (or at least mostly moved out) before Kent gets here to help us fix our current house.

Sick Kids . . . Again!

Mya had a cold when she woke up yesterday and was extra cranky, so she and I stayed home from church, then Kylan seemed to have one by last night. Then, 4am he woke up, burning hot and crying. I am so sick of this winter and my kids being sick! So, I have half of his antibiotic left from last month and started him on it this morning(I know, bad mom, I'm supposed to have him finish it, but he was taking 3tsp a day and had two bottles of it, and when he was better after one, it was hard to remember). Mya still doesn't have a fever, so I'm hoping she is going to skip that part like she did last month when Kylan was really sick.
So, it looks like we'll being staying close to home for a few days. Probably a good thing so that I stay put and get some things done here!

Dry Wall and Paint

Kylan wanted me to take a picture of him with his new kitchen and easle that he got for his birthday. These two things have kept the kids very happy lately!

The master bedroom is painted. I still need to touch up the ceiling, but other than that it is done. Ignore all the stuff that needs to be removed.

We started painting the kitchen last night. The main parts and the ceiling are done, but it was dark and hard to see so we will do the cutting in during the day this week.

Looking out from the kitchen, this is the wall of the dining room. The ceiling in this room has also been painted.

Half the paneled wall has been painted and some of the ceiling. We have to get things moved out before we can finish it.

More dry wall and Kylan.

More drywall.

The drywalling tok a little longer than we thought it would because it's taken a lot of mud to blend in the ceiling, but it is looking good and should be textured by the middle of this next week. Right now we are just painting what we can and then we will have a "Painting Party" and invite everyone over to help (we will provide food)! We also have to get the wall paper off which will hopefully happen this week!

House Update

I just realized that I haven't taken any pictures of everything with the sheetrock up, so I will be doing that in the next couple days because it is looking really nice. Tim and I have also painted the master bedroom in the last few days, I just have to cut in the second coat and it will be done except the ceiling. The sheetrockers told us yesterday that everything should be ready for texturing the middle of this next week. This is a little later than they thought originally, but it has taken more layers of mud than they thought it would to blend things in where we took the wall out.

Here are more pictures of the new bathroom that were requested. Hopefully you can get a better idea of where this is. I didn't take any of the office because nothing has been done in there because we still haven't decided on who we are going with for the heating and air.

Looking fromt he kitchen to the office, the bathroom includes where the toilet was, the utility sink area and the small pantry. The contractor is going to build us some shelving where there is flooring missing so that we didn't lose all the shelving of the pantry.

Looking the other direction - from the office into the kitchen.

Looking straight into the bathroom. As you can see, it's not going to be very big. The toilet will be where that whole in the ground is and the vanity is a corner one and will be to the left (you can't see where it will be in this picture.

Cute Pictures and Funny Story

My handsome boys home for lunch.

My cute girl in her pig tails eating lunch all by herself in her brothers chair.
In the morning I lock the kids out of the bathroom while I shower because Mya opens the curtains and gets all wet. I take fast showers, so they aren't alone for very long and always do good. Well, this morning I turn off the shower and I hear Kylan screaming. When I call for him he won't come he just keeps screaming. I am panicking at this point thinking he has broken his leg and can't walk to me. I hurry out to find that he has stuck his hand between the slatts in the dining room chairs and moved his arm down and can't get it out and it is now wedged. We have talked about this before, this is not the first time his arm has been stuck, but it is the first time mom wasn't right there to get it out. I had to laugh and I just told Tim and he asked why I didn't take a picture before I got him out. Kylan keeps me laughing, that's for sure!

The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing But!

I saw this on a couple other blogs today, and decided to participate. This is my house, on an everyday basis with little editing. It's taken me a few years to accept this condition of my house, before kids I prided myself on keeping my house (except my bedroom, always been a challenge for me) in ready to be seen condition. However pregnancy, kids, and life have made that impossible, plus I am in this house limbo where I have little motivation to clean because we will be moving soon and it will be much easier to clean once it is empty. So, here it is in all it's glory:

We'll start with the worst - my laundry room. It's an obstacle course and decorated with Tim's drying barn clothes. I am so excited to have a whole room as a laundry room that I'm sure will still look something like this!

Even the hallway isn't clutter free. This is a bin of too-small kids clothes and blankets ready to take to the new house, except that I had to dig something out of it the other day and haven't put it all back. Oh, and that is the one and only linen closet overflowing under the door into the hall.

My pink and blue bathroom that feels like it is never clean no matter how much I clean it. There is only one plug in, so that is an extension cord so I can plug in my curling iron and blow dryer at the same time. No towel hanging on the towel rack, just my bathrobe and what you can't really see is the used cotton swabs and pieces of toilet paper on the rug that Mya pulled out of the garbage can. Yes, that is the roll of toilet paper on the counter. It hasn't been in a holder since Kylan discovered it 2 years ago.

My bedroom that is always overrun with laundry, bed never made, unfolded laundry in baskets on the bed and what I did clean up was my underwear drawer that Mya likes to empty and strew around the house.

Kylans room, Enough said.

The living room which always looks like this because our house is too small. Can't wait to have an actual playroom for the kids!

My overcrowded dining room. Our table is never completely clean unless we are having a family dinner. My printer and whatever I don't know what to do with is on it or on one of the chairs. Also, Mya's mac & cheese mess from last night is still on the floor and on the high chair.

My kitchen (if you ignore the breakfast nook/catch all in the back) is actually pretty clean today because I haven't done any cooking yet. In the back you can see that Tim's camping stuff from last weekend still hasn't been cleaned up, and probably won't be until he camps again (or we move).

So, there it is. Hopefully I made you feel better about your own house, and if you are brave take the challenge and share!

17 Weeks

Baby is about 5 1/2 inches long and as many ounces and is beginning a growth spurt (great)! This is about how I looked with Mya at 20 weeks, but I was carrying so low with her and I think this one is higher - maybe a boy? Who knows?!

I feel the baby everyday now and I have braxton-hicks everyday also, especially if I sit for a long period of time. Also, for those first timers out there, more than 4 an hour doesn't mean you are in early labor like some of the books say, just a little FYI. I just read that on this baby and started laughing.

Doctors Appointment and House Pics and Update

I had a checkup today and things went well. The best part was that I brought Kylan with me to hear the heartbeat and I am so glad that I did because he was so excited to hear it! When we got to the car he immediately had to call his dad and tell him about it. At my appointment in April we will make an appointment for my ultrasound, so that should be the middle of May.

The house is moving right along. The sheet rockers are there today and will be done by Tuesday or Wednesday. Once they are done we will be painting everything and then hopefully have the carpet layed the next week and then we start moving. I am so excited, unless I think too much about what moving implies, then I am overwhelmed, so I try not to dwell on that part! Here are a few pictures I snapped yesterday afternoon:

I thought it was interesting that under the wood paneling you could tell where there had originally been a large window.

The new shower in the master bathroom. We were just going to keep the shower that was already there, but it was all rotted out. When we started taking it out we found that the tile was layed over random materials such as brick, cinder block, and random rock. We have found a lot of things like this in the house.

The view of everything opened up from the kichen bar.

Kylan's birthday is on Monday and he wanted to have his party at his new house, but unfortunately until the sheet rockers are done we don't have running water or full electricity (they can't finish the plumbing until the other is done), but we will be moved in before too long!

Baby's Baby's Everywhere!

It seems like people I know are pregnant in phases. Phase One of my friends/relatives who are pregnant have started having their baby's over the last week and it is making me very excited to meet this new little one of ours. It is so true that you forget all that you actually go through having the baby between babies, (but not completely). Whenever I think about holding this one for the first time images of Mya's birth come to mind (and not the good ones after she arrived). Then I remind myself that Dr. Reimer has promised me my epidural this time around, but really what does that mean??!! Oh well, the baby will come out, it won't be pleasant, but I will live, and I will have a sweet baby, be sleep deprived, still survive and have another wonderful child in my life!
There was another point to this post before I started rambling . . . I just want to say congrats to Abe & Lindsey on the arrival of Crew a little over a week ago and Afton & Bryan on the arrival of Brooke a week ago also!
AND . . . good luck to: Rayanne, Kari & Corinne in the next couple weeks. I can't wait to see your little ones and I really can't wait to find out if I am getting a new niece or nephew!
And one more big congrats to Karin & Bert on announcing that they are expecting! I'm so excited that we are both having our #3's within a month of each other!

The Wall is Down!

Here is a timeline in pictures of taking it down:

Before we started.

Just the beginning

The fireplace finally gone - it took a jack hammer to get it all out (Thanks Sam, you saved us!)

From the door to the car port.

From the front door.

Looking straight through to the kitchen.
I was so excited to see this after a not so good day subbing! We are so excited!!!
They also put the new bath tub in today:
