Fun Pictures

For Christmas Mya got some play/dress up clothes and on Christmas day she didn't really seem to like them, but as time has gone by she plays with them more and more. While I was at the store today Tim said Ky came out and said that he had made Mya all pretty and this was how she came out:
and then while Tim was showing me the picture he took of Mya Ky decided to dress up too. This will be going on his 16th birthday cake!
Both he and Mya love wearing the high heals and running around on the hard floor. Is it sad that my 2 and 3 year old walk in heels better than I do???
And here is Emmit's new trick - sitting up by himself. He will still fall over some (notice the pillow behind him), but he gets better and better at it everyday (especially if his brother and sister leave him alone while he is sitting)!

Some Sunday Pictures

Tim enjoying some cake with our delicious homemade pizza in the back ground. Sunday's are our eat-whatever-we-want days, so we like to have all of our favorites!
Tim, Mya and Kylan. Love Mya's face!

Emmit hanging out and NOT crying! I think it had been a whole hour since he had cried when I took this picture. That has to be some kind of record this week (unless he is sleeping). I have a new appreciation for those of you who have had collic babies! I have about gone crazy!

Watching Funniest Home Videos with dad. Not my favorite show, but Tim and the kids love it. In fact Tim's whole family loves it and Tim informed me that it has been on the air for 22 years now, so apparently a lot of people out there enjoy watching it!

Roseola

. . . just add it to the list of things Emmit had this week. The doctor mentioned that he may have this and we would know for sure if he broke out in a rash all over his body once his fever was gone. Well, sure enough today he started a rash at the back of his neck and top of his back and it has spread down his back and chest, to his extremities and even a little on his face. It starts with an upper respitory infection, and only affects 6 months-2yr olds. Add the ear infection, and I think Emmit shouldn't get sick again for awhile! Poor baby!

Snow Day and Emmit Update

We woke up to all of this today:

Kylan and Mya couldn't wait to get out in it. They begged me to get them dressed from the moment they got up. In fact, Kylan has gotten really good at being able to dress himself, so when I got all their warm stuff out and ready and Emmit got upset so I had to hold him, Kylan had dressed himself by the time I got back to getting them ready! I never knew how nice it would be when he could dress himself!

And there they go, looking for the "deep snow". They actually played for about 30 minutes, then came in for hot chocolate and I dried their clothes for them and then they went out again for about an hour! Good thing too because it is already gone!
Onto the Emmit update. The walk-in clinic doctor told me on Wednesday that if he still had a fever Friday morning to bring him back in. Last night before bed his fever finally broke, for the first time since Saturday night. We were so happy! He only woke up once last night, and then when he got up this morning his fever still hadn't come back! Other than throwing up a bunch of flem, he was feeling so much better! He went down for a hap around 9am and slept for almost three hours. When he woke up he felt warm, but I thought it was just from sleeping, so I gave him Tylenol (for the pain in his ear since his ear drum ended up rupturing Wed. afternoon), then fed him and changed him. I then took his temp and it was 103.5 and this was about 30 min after he had been given Tylenol! I called Tim who came home immediately. Emmit threw-up again by the time he got home (mostly flem again), so we bathed him and I ran him in. His temp was still at about 102 in the doctors office (now over an hour since he had medicine) and so they put him on a stronger antibiotic + antibiotic drops for his ear. If he still has a fever on Monday I have to take him back, and if it gets above 104 we are to take him to the ER over the weekend (she told me Narag is on duty this weekend which is good). I just want my baby to be better!

Finally!

I finally took Emmit to the walk-in clinic today (I tried to get into his doctor, but there was no way they could get him in, but they said he HAD to be seen today, so to go to the walk-in clinic) and he has an ear infection. They asked me if the ER even looked in his ears, which they did but for only a second. Tim and I just don't have good luck in the ER here. We have been miss-diagnosed all three times that we have been there since we have been married: When Tim's appendix burst, they said he had a bad flu and gave him antibiotics "just in case" which we found out actually made things worse, when I had a miscarriage they said I had had a tabular pregnancy (when I saw my doctor the next day they said there was absolutely nothing that indicated I had had that), and now they told us Emmit's infection was viral and that antibiotic would do no good. Well, unless one of us is actually dieing and can't make it to Reno I don't think we will be going there again anytime soon! Can't wait to see the bill for this one . . .

Valentine's Day 2011

Tim and were able to go out Saturday night for dinner (thank you Gav and Rayanne), and it was that night that the sickness started for Emmit and Kylan. Needless to say, we have had a long couple of days. Kylan is better, Emmit is getting there after a trip to the ER and call to the doctor. Admist all of this, I didn't get our kids anything for valentines day. I had planned on stopping on our way to pick the kids up after our date night, but since that was when they became sick I wasn't able to.
What I really wanted to do in this post was to thank the grandparent's and great-grandparent's for the wonderful gifts they brought to our kids yesterday. I was feeling pretty terrible that I hadn't gotten the kids anything for Valentine's day, but everyone else more than made up for that. Also, Tim and Ky went on a medicine run and got me a very nice card and some candy. Tim told Kylan they were going to surprise me and Kylan asked him if he could hide under the table (he didn't quite get that the card and candy were my surprise). So here they are this morning with some of their loot (dad hid some of it so well that even I can't find it - we all basically survived on candy yesterday, in fact at about 6pm last night I realized I hadn't eaten anything but candy and diet coke and water all day because I was so tired and busy with Emmit).
The roses were from my grandparent's because my kids have all been sick a lot lately. Love my grandparents!

Emmit woke up, so we had him get in one really quickly.

Here he is with his dog that Grandma and Grandpa Adams got him. He really does love it, this is one of the few almost smiles that we've gotten from him in the last couple days.

And then that smile turned to this! And this is where he began crying for about an hour, until I got him to sleep and then rocked him for another half hour before laying him back down. The cute thing that he has started doing while being sick is holding his arms out to Tim or I (mostly me, he has turned into a mama's boy the last few weeks) because he wants one or the other of us!

Some Fun Pictures

My mom has been helping my grandma go through some stuff that she boxed up while their house was being repainted and carpeted and she has been bringing over pics of Wade for me to post on facebook. Today she brought over a bunch of us when we were little and I thought it would be fun to post them here! So here they are, in no kind of order!
Halloween I would guess around 1990 (Kort looks about 2 or 3). And no my mom isn't dressed up (Tim asked if she was)!
Bryce and Kort with Carissa and Reed on Halloween 1998

Being silly. I think it was someone's birthday, maybe dad's. Sorry Kal that you were cut out!

Schank Family party (once again, probably a party). Brandon (cut off a little), Drew, Mom, Jared, Grandpa Cyril, Grandma Delva and dad. Grandpa Adams is standing by the door.

I think this was probably the summer between 5th and 6th grade (1994/95is). This is Jessie (Kroshus) Isbister, Me, Kent and Kort.

Kort and Grandpa Adams. Kort was always with Grandpa. My mom started working at the office when Kort started kindergarten and so my grandpa would pick him up from school a lot for her (my grandma was still teaching).

My mom on the phone in high school (or maybe junior high). There was a whole series of these that my grandma had probably taken for her photography class.

Nothing Much

We've been busy, but not with anything too exciting. Mainly we've been busy with Tim and I trying to squeeze in work outs where ever we can, which is a challenge with three kids and not much daylight! Our goal for the last few months has to been to become healthier, not just to lose weight through dieting, but to make a life style change that will get us eating healthier and exercising more. I have to say, I feel pretty great and have so much more energy. So while I would like to drop lots of weight really quickly, I know that this is the best route for the long run, so I am trying to be patient.
Anyway, on to the important stuff . . . the kids! They are doing great. Mya is potty training so much easier than Kylan did. The only time she has trouble is when friends are over to play. We haven't really ventured out yet with the big girl undies on, but at home she does really well! It's the time of year that they start fertilizing the fields here on the dairy, so Kylan is so happy to be hauling "poop" with dad in the afternoons. And Emmit is just being the great baby he is! Nap time is sacred in our house, but I needed to wake him up to go to a babyshower today, so since I had to wake him up anyway, I decided it would be a great chance to get a good picture of my cute baby sleeping. Isn't he just perfect!!!
